Are you moriarty1 and left a 2 star review?

I’m trying to contact the user of WhoNews who left a 2 star review at the App Store. The review was “I was frustrated to find in the latest update that the most irritating bug is still there. The left hand menu bar still changes quite often to either a full page menu across the whole screen, thus obscuring the news or sometimes changes to a full across the page ' semi opaque filter' that you can't get off.”

I can only glean from this that the user has suffered from this issue in a previous version and still finds it exists. As always I stress if you do find a problem with WhoNews, just go to the setting page and choose ‘Contact Developer’ and describe the issue. I’ll endeavour to do my best and provide a fix as quick as possible.

WhoNews iOS 2.07 at the App Store

WhoNews v2.07 for iOS is now available which fixes crashing on some devices including 2nd Generation iPod Touch. It also adds iCloud support for bookmarks, so they are automatically backed up when your device is.

WhoNews v2.07 for iOS will be released soon which fixes crashing on some devices including 2nd Generation iPod Touch.

EyeStalk v1.0.2 Released New Video Mode

EyeStalk v1.0.2 is now available at the App Store. This version of EyeStalk is a major upgrade with the inclusion of the much requested video mode.

All existing EyeStalk users can upgrade for free so check the App Store on your device.

EyeStalk’s new features include:

New video mode. Capture video and audio using EyeStalk and then apply selected effect to your movie.
Choose between HD video and normal video on devices with HD camera. Capture video at 640 x 480 or 1280 x 720.
Accurate video rendering estimates for processing video. Processing at HD can take a long time 2 minutes for 1 second of video.
Now a universal app, with full screen dedicated iPad mode.
Capture images and video in raw mode and apply effects later. EyeStalk will save raw photos/video direct to the photo library. This allows you to apply different EyeStalk effects to the same photo or video.
New Destiny effect.
Doomsday and Victory effect faster to apply. Background blurring of images now 200% quicker.

A 5 Star Thank You

Following my previous post regarding a 1 star review, a number of WhoNews users have taken the time to post 5 star reviews. I can’t express how much I really appreciate this and so just wanted to say a huge thank you to you all.

The original 1 star reviewer has now contacted me and has said he will change the review as he thought this was the way to leave feedback. I’m just grateful he got in touch and this allows me to work with him to find out what the issue is regards WhoNews and his iPod Touch.

Once again thanks for the continued support it means a lot to an indie developer.

Did you leave a 1 star review?

So with the release of WhoNews 2.06 I always check for new feedback at the App Store and for any crash reports.

This morning I read at the App Store a 1 star review from a user saying v2.06 now crashed on his iPod Touch. For any developer a 1 star review is really disappointing after all the hours of hard work especially when you haven’t been given the opportunity to put things right.

WhoNews sends its first million notifications

The WhoNews push notification system has recently sent its first million notifications to iOS users. The notification server ensures that fans are sent the latest news as it is found by the WhoNews servers.

Most users have news notifications turned on but did you know you can also receive notifications for blogs and podcasts as well. Just go to the settings tab of WhoNews, scroll down and turn on the notifications you want to receive.

Alternatively if you don’t want any notifications you can turn them all off.
